Sgt Alex E Sundberg


S / Sergeant Alex E. Sundberg meldde zich op 4 mei 1942 in Portland, Oregon.

S / Sgt Alex E. Sundberg werd voor het eerst begraven op de Temporary Netherlands American Cemetery, Holland op Blok PPP, Rij 5, Graf 122.

Stafsergeant Alex Sundberg, die eerder als vermist was opgegeven, werd op 26 maart gedood tijdens een actie boven Nederland, De familie van SGt Sundberg hadden een telegram ontvangen van het oorlogsdepartement waarin stond dat ze via het Internationale Rode Kruis bericht hadden gekregen van de  Duitse regering hadden  dat Sgt. Sundberg was gesneuveld. Sgt. Sundberg was een geschutskoepel schutter op een bommenwerper die in Engeland was gestationeerd. Hij was 26 jaar oud toen hij sneuvelde. Voordat hij in dienst trad van de Army Airforce  werkte hij bij het bedrijf Kesterson dit was een houthakkers bedrijf..

Staff Sergeant Alex Sundberg, previously reported missing, was killed in action over Holland on March 26, according to word just received by his parents.


A telegram was received from the war department saying that they had received word from the German government through the International Red Cross that Sgt. Sundberg had been killed. 
Sgt. Sundberg was a turret gunner on a bomber stationed in England. He was 26 years old and had entered the army air forces two years ago. Previously he had been employed at the Kesterson Lumber company.
